AR655.306 Dramatic Arts and Communication 1
None.
On successful completion of this unit, the student will be able to:
Creatively implement performance and production elements and techniques which contribute to theatrical language and imagery as required by the production.
Adapt a current issue of society to a dramatic performance.
Develop and apply skills and creativity in participating and contributing to group-created / devised research and performance practice.
Evaluate aspects of the experience of the group collaboration and project
This unit builds on the research from Dramatic Arts and Communication 1 as it directly informs the development and performance of a group devised work. Combining the research and learning about the dramatic arts, students will work together to devise a performance piece that comments on the researched issue, while taking into account the relationship of the issue to the Christian faith.
Students will be responsible for overseeing and completing all aspects of the production and so must work together on developing story, performance and production elements (for example; set, props, lighting, stage management). Students will then have the opportunity to perform their group devised production.
This unit has a very high practical component and attendance is very important. It may require extra time out of regular class hours to perform. This will be included in the general class expectations and must be attended.
The Unit Offerings listed above are a guide only and the timetable for any year is the final authority. The College may vary offerings based on demand, regulatory requirements, continual improvement processes or other conditions.

There will possibly be a difference in the schedule and/or the prescribed assessment tasks, however both will cover and assess the same content.
