Unit Description

This unit allows the student to explore a particular area of study in the discipline of Community Development by means of an independent directed study project in conjunction with an appropriate Academic staff member. The area of study and the study plan prepared by the student will be established, checked and approved by the supervisor through the normal College processes. The detailed shaping of the unit will be based on discussion and planning between the student and the Academic Staff member appointed as their directed study project supervisor.

Two or three meetings, early in the semester, of up to two hours each may be held between the student and the Academic Staff member who is directing the directed study project. During the semester further meetings may be arranged as required. There will normally be a final summative meeting between the directed students and the directing Academic staff member to finalise the direction the directed study project will take.
