On successful completion of this unit, the student will be able to:
Critically review and synthesise components of literacy and numeracy across the curriculum and communicate a differentiated range of strategies for teaching those components in order to meet the specific learning needs of a diverse group of students.
Analyse and plan for the English literacy and numeracy needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and articulate an understanding of and respect for their histories, cultures and languages.
Identify and implement and evaluate strategies that incorporate ICT with the learning and teaching of literacy and numeracy across the curriuculum
Critically analyse a range of diagnostic, formal and informal, formative and summative assessment strategies to assess and plan for student learning in literacy and numeracy.
Demonstrate advanced personal proficiencies in literacy and numeracy, including the use of digital technologies.
Critically review the purposes and processes of classroom-based action research to inform and improve teaching and learning.
