On successful completion of this unit, the student will be able to:

Unit Description

This unit helps develop and enhance student’s communication skills, by providing an understanding of key communication principles and methods. This unit explores the role of communication in leadership and Christian ministry. The connection between personal relationships and communication will be explored. Examples of the types of communication that will be addressed in this unit include: preaching; teaching; leading workshops and presentations; leading business meetings; facilitating discussion; press releases; social media; and other electronic communication.

Teaching Strategies

Teaching strategies include: lectures, tutorials, weekend schools and presentation of instructional material in the form of printed documentation, OHP, DVD, video and audio tape and online interaction. Students also learn by class discussion, personal study, preparation of assignments and assessment comments on their work.
