On successful completion of this unit, the student will be able to:
Integrate philosophy into previously acquired theological framework.
Analyse the philosophical complexity of specific issues relating to Christian life.
Differentiate between the approaches of various Christian philosophers.
This subject integrates philosophy into the student’s understanding of theology that has been gained in the subjects: TH507.306 Foundations for Faith, TH570.306 Living in Christ, & BB524.306 Introduction to the Bible
The subject provides examples of the encounters between theology and philosophy by considering the works of St Augustine, Soren Kierkegaard & Simone Weil. Particular emphasis is placed upon the complex ways in which theology and philosophy have interacted with each other in the writings of these Christian philosophers.
