Unit Description

This unit represents the final unit within the 8 unit major sequence. It is designed to allow students to act, with the assistance of a supervisor, in the development and solution of a relevant psychological problem. As such this unit assists students in their transition to professional practice and/or post-graduate study. Students are expected to perform a literature search on a topic of interest and from this to formulate a research hypothesis. Students are expected to consider the ethical implications of their research, develop an appropriate research methodology and carry-out data collection within small groups. Following this, students are expected to perform appropriate statistical analyses. Each student is to write-up their research as an APA formatted research report which critically evaluates the work undertaken.
